ABOUT US
H. J. Stanley & Sons Limited is a third-generation family-owned company and has been farming sea salt in Tanzania since 1949. We have two solar salt farms, both located in Bagamoyo district. We have always traditionally produced natural hand-harvested coarse sea salt which is sold wholesale and then distributed all around Tanzania and into neighboring countries such as DRC and Burundi.
In 2021, we recognized an opportunity to introduce higher quality and diversified products to our range which could be marketed to local supermarkets and artisanal outlets around the country. After collaboration with a wide range of friends and like-minded people from all walks of life the new Bagamoyo Sea Salt brand was created offering a variety of new exciting salt flavours such as Pilipili, Coconut & Lime, Turmeric & Ginger, Herb and Hibiscus but not forgetting the traditional coarse and fine plain salt. All additional ingredients are sourced locally and naturally grown.

We also supply our sea salt products to Europe, UK and the USA.
Our head office is based in Dar es Salaam. We have custom-built a factory at our Utondwe salt farm located at Kitame in Bagamoyo District and only employ members of the local community. We are also committed to initiatives in education, health, and infrastructure in the isolated Kitame community.
